The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This time we're finally meeting the eponymous Android villain who appeared in "Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!", Android 13 himself!

After Dr. Gero's destruction, his vengeful obsession with Goku was inherited by his supercomputer, which in turn finished creating a new line of Androids with the directive of exterminating the Saiyan once and for all.
The Androids created together in this batch were numbers 14, 15, and their leader, Android 13.
With their databanks full of battle data taken from Goku and the other heroes, these new Androids were able to predict all their opponent's moves before they made them!

Android 13 was a little slower to activate than 14 and 15, though, and only joined their battle against Goku and Trunks later when they'd moved to the northern glacier region.

As their battle raged on, Goku powered up to Super Saiyan, but even that wasn't enough to overpower Android 13. Gohan joined the fray as well and attacked 13 from behind, but the Android was able to fend him off and counterattack.
However, 13 soon found his situation looking grim, as his enemies continued to increase in number with Piccolo entering the picture, and his two allies, 14 and 15, being destroyed almost simultaneously by Vegeta and Trunks.
It was then that he revealed his ability to absorb the computer chips and energy reactors of his fallen comrades into his own body and power up to become Fusion Android 13!

First Appearance

"Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13!"

His trademark accessory is his Red Ribbon Army cap!
Although it fell off during his fight with Goku, Android 13 first appears wearing this super-cool cap emblazoned with the Red Ribbon Army insignia.
