Upon hearing that Frieza had been resurrected, Granolah saw his chance to avenge his planet and fellow Cerealians at long last. He assembled the Cerealian Dragon Balls and wished to become the greatest warrior in the universe—a wish that was granted at the cost of dramatically shortening his own lifespan!

The leader of the Heeters, Elec, was plotting to use the Frieza Force to conquer the universe, but when he found out about Granolah's miraculous increase in strength, he knew that the Cerealian posed a threat to his plans, much like the Saiyans who had defeated Moro, Goku and Vegeta. And so, to rid himself of all three obstacles in his path in one fell swoop, Elec conjured up a sinister scheme to exploit Granolah's hatred of Saiyans to trick him into fighting the two, and with any luck, they would destroy each other without him having to lift a finger.

With Elec pulling the strings, Goku and Vegeta were lured to Planet Cereal, where Granolah was waiting, and a vicious battle broke out between them! Each side employed their most powerful techniques against the other—Granolah with his unequaled power granted by the Cerealian Dragon Balls, Goku with his refined Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta with his new Ultra Ego form attained through training with Beerus!

During their battle, Monaito, a Namekian living on Planet Cereal who raised Granolah, intervened and told Granolah the truth about what happened on the day the Frieza Force attacked 40 years prior. As it turns out, the ones responsible for the invasion were the Heeters themselves, and that it was in fact a Saiyan, Goku's father, Bardock, who had saved their lives! Upon seeing young Granolah, Bardock was reminded of his own son, and found himself unable to leave the Cerealian and his mother to die.

However, the most shocking secret to be revealed was the fact that the person who killed Granolah's mother was none other than Elec! Granolah, who was unconscious at the time, never knew the truth behind his mother's death, and was unknowingly being used by the Heeters the entire time.

Now that Granolah had learned the truth, the Heeters were forced to step out of the shadows to execute their plan in person! And to make sure the job got done, Elec had used the Cerealian Dragon Balls to turn his brother, Gas, into the new strongest warrior in the universe!

As their fight continued across various celestial bodies, Goku was able to use his experience fighting with Teleportation to leave Gas behind and return to Planet Cereal alone, grabbing Granolah and retreating to Monaito's house.

Upon their arrival, Monaito handed something to Goku. It was Bardock's old Scouter! It was also revealed that there was an audio log of the battle between Bardock and Gas 40 years ago. With this, Goku could finally learn about his father fight firsthand!!
