Elec, the leader of the Heeters, was secretly plotting to conquer the universe, but when he found out about Granolah's miraculous increase in strength, he knew that the Cerealian posed a threat to his plans, much like the Saiyans who had defeated Moro, Goku and Vegeta. So Elec conjured up a sinister scheme to exploit Granolah's hatred of Saiyans to trick him into fighting the two, and with any luck, they would destroy each other without him having to lift a finger.

With Elec pulling the strings, Goku and Vegeta were lured to Planet Cereal, where Granolah was waiting, and a vicious battle broke out between them! Each side employed their most powerful techniques against the other—Granolah with his unequaled power granted by the Cerealian Dragon Balls, Goku with his refined Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta with his new Ultra Ego form attained through training with Beerus!

As the battle between the three of them unfolded, Monaito appeared to intervene and explained the truth about what happened on the day the Frieza Force attacked Granolah's homeworld 40 years ago.
As it turns out, the ones responsible for the invasion were the Heeters themselves, and that it was in fact a Saiyan, Goku's father, Bardock, who had saved their lives!

Before Granolah could even process this shocking news, the Heeters finally stepped out of the shadows to execute the warriors who stood in their way personally! And to make sure the job got done, Elec had used the Cerealian Dragon Balls to turn his brother, Gas, into the new strongest warrior in the universe! This led to a battle to see who was truly the universe's strongest warrior: Gas or Granolah!

Through their back and forth, Granolah seemed to gain the upper hand. Surveying the battle and determining his brother might lose, Elec decided to turn the tables back in their favor by removing the limiter that Gas wears to keep his primal instincts in check! With his unfettered power unleashed, Gas lost control of himself and went on a wild rampage, attacking friend and foe alike!
However, Elec stepped in once more to remind his rampaging brother of a promise he made forty years previous, allowing Gas to regain his composure. With his full power intact and now under his own control, Gas had become the true strongest warrior in the universe!

Granolah sustained a critical injury at the hands of the newly awakened Gas. However, Goku stepped in to intervene after receiving the last of Vegeta's energy.
Goku managed to create just enough of an opening to pull off his signature Teleportation technique, taking their fight across multiple planets before leaving Gas on a distant world and transporting himself back to Planet Cereal!

Goku took the severely injured Granolah and retreated to Monaito's house. There, Monaito handed Goku something unexpected: the Scouter his father Bardock had left behind forty years ago! Using the Scouter, they were able to access an audio log of the battle his father fought against Gas!

When V Jump's super-sized July edition hits shelves on May 20, Goku will finally recall an early memory buried deep within himself!!
