The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week we've reached perfection as we're taking a look at none other than Perfect Cell!
After overcoming multiple obstacles in his path, Second Form Cell finally managed to absorb Android 18 to achieve his final, perfect form.
(Tale 382)
After Cell proved his superiority against Vegeta, the Saiyan prince pulled out all the stops and bet everything on his brand-new attack: the Final Flash.
It was powerful enough to damage Cell, obliterating his right arm and part of his torso, but the Android was able to regenerate himself almost instantly.
Cell then delivered a devastating blow on Vegeta, getting his payback.
Next he faced Trunks, who had attained what he thought was an even stronger transformation than his father's. However, it relied too much on power and muscle while sacrificing speed, and Cell quickly saw through this weakness, evading all of the half-Saiyan's attacks with ease and causing him to lose his will to fight altogether.
(Tale 385)
In order to draw out more of his strength and plunge the whole world into a state of terror, he decided to hold his own martial arts tournament, which he dubbed the Cell Games.
The first person to face Cell was the martial arts world champion himself, Mr. Satan, who quickly found himself launched into a mountain. Then, the real fight could begin: Goku vs Cell!
Goku unleashed his full power, and the two engaged in an amazing battle of offense and defense with some truly memorable moments.

However, in a first for the Saiyan raised on Earth, Goku actually forfeited his match and passed the baton to his son, Gohan.
Intrigued by the prospect of seeing Gohan's true strength unlocked through his anger, Cell produced multiple frightening Cell Jr.'s to viciously attack Goku and the others.
While this succeeded in angering the young warrior, it was seeing Android 16 mercilessly destroyed before his very eyes that finally set his true potential free.

Gohan's rage caused him to power up into a brand new Super Saiyan form, and it wasn't long before he had Cell on the ropes.
Gohan's tremendous assault on Cell made it clear the ultimate Android was severely outmatched.
In a desperate, last-ditch effort to win, Cell launched a Kamehameha that would destroy the entirety of planet Earth, but he found it repelled by Gohan's own Kamehameha!

(Tale 410)
Cell went into a frenzy and tried the same power-heavy transformation as Trunks to overpower Gohan, only to find himself on the receiving end of even more of the furious young warrior's attacks. One attack hit him so hard that he actually regurgitated Android 18 and reverted to his Second Form!
(Tale 411)
Even in his powered-down state, Cell had an ace up his sleeve: the ability to self-destruct, hoping to eradicate Gohan and the Earth along with him! However, thanks to Goku's quick thinking and Instant Teleportation, Cell was transported to the Planet of the Kaio just in time to save Earth from destruction! However, this resulted in Goku, the tiny planet, and everyone on it being blown to smithereens.
(Tale 412)
Despite Goku's sacrifice, in a miraculous but cruel twist of fate, Cell's core survived the blast, and the ultimate Android was able to regenerate his entire body.
And not only was he able to resurrect into his Perfect Form, coming back from the brink of death meant his Saiyan cells gave him a startling increase in power!
(Tale 413)
Cell launched a Kamehameha powerful enough to destroy the entire Solar System, and a weakened Gohan could only fight back with a one-handed Kamehameha! An epic back-and-forth ensued between the colossal, clashing beams, and just when all hope seemed lost, Gohan, with Goku's spirit supporting him from the afterlife, launched a father-son Kamehameha that not only repelled Cell's attack but completely obliterated him down to the last molecule.
(Tale 415)
"Dragon Ball" Tale 382
Cell boldly announced the Cell Games on live television!
Cell attacked a television station studio to hijack a broadcast and proclaim the opening of his very own tournament to the world: the Cell Games! With a seeming flare for the dramatic, he gave a prophetic performance by destroying the wall with a picture of the Earth on it behind him.
(Tale 389)
→Preview: Next week's character is someone who bravely dared to stand against Cell!
