The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week.
This week, we're meeting the tough-as-nails Saiyanette from Dragon Ball Super's Universe Survival Arc, Caulifla!

Story

Caulifla is a Saiyan from Universe 6.
She's something of a gang boss on her universe's version of Planet Sadala, where she's carved out an area as her turf and makes a living out of robbing people who pass through.
Not even the elite forces of Planet Sadala's military are safe from Caulifla with her incredible strength and self-assured, fearless attitude!
She also has a close friend named Kale, another Saiyan in her gang, who idolizes her like a big sister.

One day, Cabba from Sadala's army offers her a spot on Universe 6's team for the Tournament of Power, but she turns him down.
She was under the impression that there was no Saiyan out there stronger than her, but then Cabba transformed into a Super Saiyan and showed her that even she's still got a long way to go!
Seeing Cabba's power firsthand, she agrees to fight in the tournament under the condition that he teaches her how to transform into a Super Saiyan too.

By the events of the tournament proper, Caulifla has mastered the Super Saiyan transformation and uses it to great effect in battle against Frieza. However, Frieza has a shiny new transformation trick of his own—Golden Frieza—which Caulifla is unable to overcome.

Caulifla's ally Kale later takes on the Legendary Super Saiyan transformation and the two use the Potara to fuse and become Kefla.
Together, their astonishing power proves too much for even the majority of team Universe 11, who were initially a shoo-in to take the whole tournament!
Though as powerful as Kefla is, Caulifla is forced to recognize once again—this time by Gohan—that there's always someone out there stronger than you, and in the end they knock each other out of the arena during their one-on-one duel.

Caulifla's jet black hair turns to shimmering gold and her Power Level spikes dramatically with this transformation.
She was taught how to power up to Super Saiyan by Cabba and showed off the form's strength against Frieza during the Tournament of Power.

She's a leader you can depend on!

Caulifla accepts all kinds of people with nowhere else to go into her gang and lets them live with her in their hideout.
Everybody there has a tremendous amount of trust in her, especially Kale.

      • One of the best addition to Dragon Ball with Kale! She's like Goku, but with greater potential and rapid progression. Hopefully there will be more story and more battles with her in the future, because I want to see her progress and get some amazing new transformations for her to protect her universe.

        A TV series and manga on universe 6 where we follow the adventures of Caulifla, Kale, Cabba, Champa, Vados, Hit and Frost would be absolutely incredible and will bring a breath of fresh air to Dragon Ball!

      • Caulifla is my 2nd favorite saiyan from Universe 6, ofcourse Kale being the 1st. I like her attitude and how she acts to others with her big ego.

        • Severely underused for how cool and interesting she is. Especially when they finally met Broly and they didn't even mention Kale, I lost hope of them ever bringing the Universe 6 Saiyans back. If they do come to their senses, I hope she comes back with a lot more muscle like Selipa had.
