The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This time, we will be discussing Man-Wolf, a unique character who is half-man, half-wolf, and 100% martial arts master!
An individual with a peculiar physiology that makes him transform from a wolf-like being into a human when he looks at the full moon.
When Jackie Chun destroyed the moon during the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, Man-Wolf became unable to change back into his human form. Seemingly stuck as a wolf for the rest of his life, he harbors a deep resentment towards Jackie Chun.
(Tale 119)
Man-Wolf is a martial arts master who holds a stunning 30th level black belt in Kenpo. He enters the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai and advances all the way to the main matches, where he faces off in the second match of the tournament against his hated foe Jackie Chun, who is actually Kamesennin in disguise! At the onset of their match, Man-Wolf unleashes a flurry of powerful attacks with great intensity, but not a single one even comes close to connecting with the elderly martial arts master.
(Tale 119)
In a desperate attempt to get revenge, the reverse lycanthrope even tries to attack his nemesis with a nasty looking knife! While weapons are ordinarily against tournament rules, Jackie Chun tells the announcer to let it slide and uses this weapon against his would-be attacker to effortlessly lift him up and fling him away.
(Tale 119)
Jackie Chun counters this attack by throwing out an item of his own-- a bone! Unable to ignore his feral instincts, Man-Wolf chases it out of bounds, resulting in a ring-out.
(Tale 119)
To make amends for blowing up the moon, Jackie Chun comes up with a plan to restore Man-Wolf to his human form! By utilizing hypnosis and the back of Krillin's fortuitously moon-shaped noggin, the transformation is a success!

"Dragon Ball" Tale 116
22nd Tournament: Defeated in the first round.
He dislikes wolves because they're furry!
When Jackie Chun destroyed the moon, Man-Wolf became stuck in his wolf form, which is apparently unpopular with human ladies. When his hated foe suggests that he find a wolf girlfriend instead, he gets very angry and yells, "I hate furry people!!"
(Tale 119)
→ Preview: Next week's character is someone who actually went all the way to the moon!
