Sand Land is a passion project drawn by Toriyama that initially began from the simple concept of an old man and his tank, but it soon grew into something much more. It had a short run in Weekly Shonen Jump 2000 No. 23 until the Vol. 36/37 double issue in that same year.
The story takes place in a far-flung future where Earth has become a desert planet with a severe water shortage and follows the adventures of the Demon Prince Beelzebub, his demon attendant Thief, and the human sheriff Rao as they search for a long-lost lake!!
