Drum was a member of the Demon Clan who hatched from an egg coughed up by Great Demon King Piccolo.
His master created him for the purpose of destroying Tenshinhan, who was intending to seal away the demon king once more.

The hulking monstrosity tried to utilize his swift attacks against the young Saiyan only to fail time after time to meet his mark, and in the end Drum was taken down by a devastating kick to the face.

Drum hates to lose!

During their battle, Tenshinhan actually does manage to land a hit on Drum: a flying headbutt right to the face! In response, Drum wipes his cheek and barks, "You're already dead!" before unleashing a furious barrage of strikes! Then when Goku arrives and pushes Drum away from Tenshinhan before he can deliver the finishing blow, Drum turns to him angrily and says, "There's no way you're getting away with knocking me down."
