SAND LAND Movie Announced! Check out the Release Date and Key Visuals!!
A movie adaptation of SAND LAND, Akira Toriyama's famous one-shot manga, is coming! The film will be released in movie theaters in Japan on Friday, August 18.
The SAND LAND movie was announced on March 22, which is designated as World Water Day by the UN. SAND LAND's story focuses on the main characters' quest to find an elusive source of water on a planet that has become a desert wasteland, making it the perfect day to release info about this exciting new film!

Dragon Ball had finished, so I thought I'd try my hand at doing some short stories and one-shot manga,
and SAND LAND was meant to be the final work in that series of projects, so I really put my all into its creation.
It ended up being a one-volume long story, but when I look back on it now I'm really shocked that I managed to draw it all myself on a tight weekly schedule without an assistant to help me.
I really put a lot of myself and what I like into this work, so whenever I hear that readers really loved the story
I'm filled with appreciation for all my amazing fans.
I had a chance to take a look at the current version of the film,
and even though there's still a lot left to be done, I was blown away by the level of quality.
It's been 20 years since the SAND LAND manga finished its publication,
so the fact that a movie version of the story will soon be available is like a dream come true.
