Story

Belmod is the God of Destruction of Universe 11.
He has a jolly personality and loves to enjoy himself, as shown in one of his first appearances, where he decides to celebrate his 87,910,715th day as God of Destruction with a party while being pampered by some ladies on a planet marked for destruction.

You definitely don't want to get Belmod angry, however, as he has a brutal side as well. One of his party attendees made that mistake when she challenged Belmod's Angel attendant, Marcarita, so he promptly destroyed her on the spot.

Bemod is thinking about retiring from his position as God of Destruction and is training the warrior Toppo to take over for him.
He even brings Toppo with him when the Great Priest calls for an emergency meeting of the Gods of Destruction.

The Tournament of Power is announced at this divine meeting, and all the Gods of Destruction have a brief but fierce skirmish.
It is there that he challenges Beerus, stating that Universe 7's God of Destruction was the reason that all the universes almost got destroyed at their last godly gathering, which turns the other gods against Beerus too.

While they're all focused on Beerus, Belmod suddenly attacks Sidra, the God of Destruction of Universe 9. Belmod declares that because this is a no-holds-barred battle with only one winner, there's no point in working together, and then unleashes a full-power, merciless attack that incapacitates the other Gods of Destruction in an instant.

When the almighty Zeno requests that Goku and Toppo fight, Belmod instructs his pupil to go show everyone what he's made of so that they have no choice but to acknowledge his power. When Toppo begins to overpower Goku, Belmod is pleased and praises Toppo's fighting style. He tells Toppo to go guarantee the victory and then watches the proceedings with a confident look on his face.

Belmod personally goes to Jiren to ask him to enter the Tournament of Power. To convince the mighty warrior to take part in the competition, Belmod promises to resurrect Jiren's late master, Gicchin, with the Super Dragon Balls once they win the tournament.

The Tournament of Power begins, and while warriors from various rival universes quickly find themselves knocked out, Universe 11 remains totally undefeated. Belmod initially watches the fighting with an easygoing smile plastered on his face, but he begins to show signs of irritation when Kale and Caulifla from Universe 6 suddenly use Potara Fusion and eliminate six fighters all at once. Belmod continues to believe in Jiren's ability to pull off a win even after Frieza and the others eliminate Toppo and the other Universe 11 representatives.

Despite all of his faith in Jiren, the grey titan is ultimately eliminated by the incredible teamwork of Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and Android 17. Upon being defeated, Belmod apologizes to Jiren for failing to revive Gicchin and even offers some kind words to the warrior, telling him to stop blaming himself for not being able to protect his teacher from the demon that took his life.

Trivia

He was good friends with Jiren's fallen master, Gicchin!

Belmod and Gicchin were actually very close.
When the cooperation and teamwork of Goku and his allies finally managed to turn the tides on Jiren, Belmod reveals that Gicchin had always tried to convey the importance of working together with others to his student.
Despite being friends, Belmod had disliked Gicchin's soft way of thinking, and that he actually decided to become a God of Destruction as a way to rebel.
