The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week, we're taking a look at Frost, a devious warrior who made his first appearance in Dragon Ball Super's God of Destruction Champa Arc!
Frost is one of Universe 6's representatives at the tournament held against its cosmic rival, Universe 7.
His appearance is nearly identical to that of the tyrannical Frieza.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 7)
Frost faces off against Goku in the second round of the tournament.
He appears the perfect gentleman at first, and even offers to shake his opponent's hand before their match begins.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 9)
He exchanges a flurry of high-speed blows with Goku, all the while carefully calculating his Saiyan foe's strength so that he can find the most opportune moment to transform.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 9)
He unleashes his first transformation, but it does little to turn the tides against Goku.
Goku then reveals his Super Saiyan form, which astonishes Frost to the degree that he immediately busts out his Final Form.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 9)
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 10)
Frost then has a fierce exchange with Goku, but ultimately finds himself pressured by his Super Saiyan opponent.
All that changes when Frost fires off a right hook. Goku casually blocks the attack, but for some reason begins to falter. Frost seizes the opportunity and knocks the Saiyan out of the ring, winning the match!
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 10)
Frost moves on to the 3rd round of the tournament which sees him squaring off against the Namekian warrior Piccolo.
Piccolo dodges Frost's attacks and takes to the sky to use his extendable arms to strike back, aiming to drain the stamina of the Universe 6 warrior. However, Frost is once again able to momentarily stun his foe with a right-handed punch and wastes no time knocking him out of bounds.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 10)
At that very moment, Jaco jumps in to save the day! The Galactic Patrol Trooper had been watching the matches from the sidelines and calls everyone's attention to the poisoned needle hidden in a hole on Frost's right arm!
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 10)
This normally would have led to Frost being disqualified from the tournament, but Vegeta tells everyone to let him continue fighting, on the condition that he is allowed to swap in for Piccolo.
Vegeta immediately goes Super Saiyan and lays a beatdown on Frost, who is completely defenseless against the Saiyan prince's fury and quickly loses by ringout.
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 11)
Dragon Ball Super Chapter 7
Frost showed off two different transformations during his battle with Goku.
His gentleman-like demeanor hides a truly rotten core!
During his battle with Goku, Frost agrees to transform into his Final Form, but then changes into a state that resembles Frieza's Third Form. It seems that Frost underestimated Goku's strength and was lying about his own capabilities. He continues his deceitful ways even after his poison needle is discovered, claiming that it isn't a weapon and is in fact a natural part of his body. He even complains that he didn't want to drag out a match that doesn't even offer prize money... What a grouch!
(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 9)
→Preview: Next week's character is another warrior from Universe 6 like Frost!
