An extremely high-ranking god who stands above the North, South, East, and West Supreme Kais, the Great Supreme Kai stands out with his warm, kind demeanor and rotund, chubby appearance.
10 million years ago, the Great Supreme Kai fought together with the South Supreme Kai against Planet-Eater Moro, a fiendish villain who had destroyed countless worlds. In the end, Great Supreme Kai sacrificed the majority of his godly power to seal away Moro's magic.

5 million years after that, the Great Supreme Kai was absorbed by Majin Buu, but when Moro escaped from the Galactic Prison, he is able to emerge once again to take on the Planet-Eater once more.

The two engage in a fierce duel in the vacuum of space, but the Great Supreme Kai begins to be overwhelmed by Moro's Dragon Ball-boosted strength.

Before being defeated, the Great Supreme Kai manages to whisk Moro off to New Planet Namek thanks to the Teleportation technique. There, he teams up with Goku and Vegeta, and the trio seems to be on the brink of winning against Moro, when suddenly the Dragon Balls are used to release all the prisoners in the Galactic Prison out into the universe!

Moro escapes, and the Great Supreme Kai suffers severe injuries while fighting his henchmen.
In his time of need, a young Namekian named Esca comes to the rescue and heals the Kai.

Later on, when he returns to the Galactic Patrol's spaceship, the Great Supreme Kai's Ki finally runs out, and his physical form returns to that of Majin Buu.

His godly powers disappeared when Majin Buu (Kid) was defeated!

During their battle with Goku, the good and evil sides of Majin Buu's personality split apart into different physical incarnations. At that moment, half of the Great Supreme Kai's power was split off and sent to Buu's evil side. Goku later destroyed that evil version of Buu, and when that happened the portion of the Great Supreme Kai's power contained within was also extinguished.

Later, he and Buu's reincarnation, Uub, sent Goku their godly power when the Saiyan was preparing to unleash the decisive finishing blow to defeat Moro.
