The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This time we're spending some quality time with Pumbukin from the TV special "Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku"!

Story

Just like Bardock, Pumbukin is a Saiyan warrior enlisted in the Frieza Force.
His standout features are his robust physique, manly mustache, and haircut featuring parted bangs.

Under order from Frieza, Pumbukin invades Planet Kanassa along with his comrades Bardock, Toma, Toteppo, and Selipa. Once there, these Saiyan warriors use their Great Ape forms to invade and brutally conquer the planet.

Pumbukin himself is grateful to Frieza and even voices his appreciation for the steady work their diabolical employer provides them.
Despite his loyalty, Pumbukin and most of his teammates meet their tragic ends on Planet Meat when they are betrayed by Frieza, who sends one of his right hand men, Dodoria, to eliminate the Saiyans.

In typical Saiyan fashion, Pumbukin can transform into a Great Ape when he absorbs a sufficient amount of Blutz Waves through his tail.
He and his teammates use this transformation to go on a rampage that decimates Planet Kanassa.

During the invasion of Planet Kanassa, a brave Kanassan fights back against Pumbukin in his Great Ape form and inflicts a cut on the left side of his face with a Ki blast. This enrages the Saiyan, who quickly retaliates by flattening him with a devastating stomp!
Later, when one of the last surviving Kanassans comes to get revenge on Bardock, Pumbukin is the first to respond, protecting his comrade by sending the would-be assassin flying with a powerful kick.
