The eighth chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga's new SUPER HERO arc is being published in the super-sized September edition of V Jump that's hitting shelves in Japan on Friday, July 21!!
The events of the Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO movie are now unfolding in the manga! On that note, let's take a look back at what's happened so far in the SUPER HERO arc!

Inspired by their favorite superhero, Trunks and Goten decide to become the superheroes Saiyaman X1 and X2 while also continuing their lives as high school students.
After solving a case one day, Trunks comes into possession of a mysterious disk belonging to Dr. Hedo, which leads to our half-Saiyan heroes battling it out with the devious doctor and his Android creations.
After a series of fierce battles, Trunks and his allies manage to defeat Dr. Hedo and send him off to jail. Just when it seems like things have finally been resolved, the nefarious Red Ribbon Army gets in contact with the incarcerated doctor, causing our story to spiral off in a new direction!

6 months pass, and we see that Piccolo has been spending his days teaching Gohan's daughter Pan how to fight.
One day while training together, Pan asks Piccolo how strong her dad really is. Piccolo replies that Gohan is the strongest warrior there is... when he's in a battle that truly pushes him to his limits.
It is at this seemingly peaceful time that Gamma 2, a mysterious Android sent by the Red Ribbon Army, suddenly appears and attacks Piccolo while he is training by himself in the wilderness!

Piccolo manages to skillfully evade Gamma 2's attack and feigns his own demise. He uses the attack as an opportunity to track the Android back to the Red Ribbon Army's headquarters and infiltrate inside!
While there, he uncovers the Red Ribbon Army's terrifying plan for world conquest!
With Goku and the other Saiyans away busy training with Beerus, he wastes no time in getting ready to defend the planet by procuring Senzu Beans and even uses the Dragon Balls to have Shenron unlock his latent potential!

While Piccolo is busing preparing, the Red Ribbon Army sets its sights on Gohan as their next target.
Piccolo manages to infiltrate the enemy's base once again and overhears their plot to kidnap Pan and use her to lure Gohan into a deadly trap.
While the enemy is deciding who to send on this nefarious mission, Piccolo thinks fast and gets them to let him tag along!
Piccolo then comes up his own cunning plan to use the kidnapping as a way to unleash Gohan's true strength!
Promising to protect Pan from harm, he asks Gohan's daughter to team up with him so they can deceive the Red Ribbon Army together and dish out some payback!

Gohan is of course furious when he learns that his daughter has been kidnapped and blasts off to the Red Ribbon Army's base, just like Piccolo and the enemy had predicted he would.
The half-Saiyan arrives in the pouring rain, and the showdown between the forces of good and evil begins.
Gohan immediately moves to rescue his daughter, but has his path blocked by Gamma 1 and Gamma 2.

With Gohan's mind still focused on rescuing Pan, a battle begins between him and Gamma 1.
Gohan transforms into his Super Saiyan state during the fight, but even that proves to be no match for Gamma 1's mechanical might...

Piccolo sees that Gohan is being pushed back and, together with Pan, carries out his plan to help the half-Saiyan awaken his true power.
To do so, he pretends to attack Pan while still dressed as a Red Ribbon Army soldier, and the plan succeeds and allows Gohan to get angry enough to unleash his Ultimate form!
But will this be enough for Gohan to defeat Gamma 1?!
