The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week.
This week we are visited by Guldo, a member of the Ginyu Force that makes up for his diminutive size with some truly fearsome special powers!
Guldo is an elite member of the Frieza Force and a member of the fearsome Ginyu Force. He's a bit on the short side and his actual Power Level is nothing to write home about, but the incredible psychic powers he possesses. Upon receiving orders from Lord Frieza, he blasts off to Planet Namek together with the rest of his team. Once reaching the alien planet, Guldo and crew waste no time tracking down Vegeta and the Dragon Balls he stole.
(Tale 272)
Using their state-of-the-art Scouters, Guldo and the Ginyu Force have no trouble locating Vegeta and the others.
In a desperate attempt to stop the Ginyu Force from getting all seven Dragon Balls, Krillin takes matters into his own hands and moves to destroy the ball he has. Unfortunately, Guldo's four eyes see through the maneuver and he uses his psychic abilities to momentarily stop time and take the ball from the earthling.
(Tale 273)
With all the Dragon Balls now in their possession, Ginyu prepares to take them back to Frieza. Before he leaves, he instructs his team to play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to fight Vegeta and his unlikely comrades, and Guldo ends up facing off against Krillin and Gohan.
Guldo is initially less than pleased and complains about having to clean up the two "small fries", but Goku's son and best friend release their Ki and shock the green alien with their speed!
To counter their speedy attack, Guldo stops time in rapid succession, but Krillin and Gohan slowly close in on him.
(Tale 274)
Guldo goes to hide behind some rocks and regroup, but his location is discovered instantly. Literally stuck behind a rock and a hard place, Guldo unleashes his Paralysis Arts to freeze Krillin and Gohan in their tracks.
(Tale 274)
Next, Guldo uses his psychic powers to rapidly convert a nearby tree into a deadly spear.
He tries to use this cruel weapon to make kebabs out of our two heroes, but Vegeta shocks everyone by coming to their rescue while reminding everyone that he too has a sadistic side.

Psychic Powers
Guldo's psychic powers allow him to stop time temporarily for everyone except himself and move objects without touching them.
Paralysis Arts
Guldo uses this technique to freeze his targets in place by numbing their nerves.
He might just have even more psychic abilities up his sleeve?!
Just before dealing the final blow to Krillin and Gohan, Guldo taunts them by saying, "I'll take care of one of you right now, and then I'll use a different psychic power to play with the other one...nice and slow!" Vegeta finishes Guldo off before he has the chance to flaunt any other abilities, but we can't help but wonder what they could have been...
