Story

Inoshikacho is a terrifying beast that attacked multiple villages.
It has the body of a boar, the wings of a butterfly, and antlers like a deer, but despite its monstrous appearance, Inoshikacho is actually quite fond of humans. Before they reformed, Tenshinhan and Chaoz would send Inoshikacho to attack villages, pretend to "save" the townsfolk, and then reap the rewards.

Goku saves Inoshikacho from the Tsuru School duo, and as a sign of gratitude, the animal volunteers to train with the lad as his sparring partner.
At the time Goku was training for the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, so to be able to train with someone used to Tenshinhan's strength was a real blessing.

Inoshikacho later apologized to the townspeople of the villages it had attacked and became close with them. It even ended up helping them with their farming duties!

Trivia

Inoshikacho was raised by Kamesennin!

Long ago, Kamesennin and Tsurusennin found Inoshikacho deep in the mountains and raised the animal. According to Kamesennin, Inoshikacho was timid as a baby, but once it grew up could be practically unstoppable when angered.
