A special fan meeting event was held to celebrate the 9th anniversary of the app game Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle at venues in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan!

Dokkan players won the chance to participate in this event by clearing in-game events and entering a lottery! 500 players in total got to attend, spread out evenly between the Tokyo and Osaka venues.
For this second ever Fan Meeting event there were tons of awesome things available for players to enjoy, including a Challenge Corner and a lottery event where all participants got awesome goodies!

A livestream of the event was also available, but just what special stuff happened off camera at the venues?
In this report, we'll give you the lowdown on everything that went on at the Tokyo fan meeting at "THE GRAND HALL" on Sunday, January 21!

At Noon on the Day of the Event, Preparations Were Busily Underway!

This year's fan meeting took place at the venue's foyer area and at the hall, in which the stage and attendee seating was located. When we visited the foyer, event staff were busily setting up all the special booths for the event!

In the center of the lobby were a series of round tables, each featuring a special Dokkan Battle-themed design! Attendees could use these to play games, respond to surveys, and hang out with other fans.
On top of that, the adjacent area had a photo spot and a Challenge Corner to enjoy!

Event attendees could also try on the Mystery Quiz in teams of two.
We tried to solve the 8 puzzles located throughout the event venue
to discover the secret password!

1 pm: It's Time to Dokkan It Up!

The fan meeting officially kicked off at 1 pm. As the start time grew closer, the line continued to fill up with excited fans.

At long last, the clock turned to 1 o'clock and it was time for the 9th Anniversary Fan Meeting to begin!

and breaking into pairs to try out the Mystery Quiz.

The final puzzle was so difficult that some hardcore attendees even teamed up with other pairs to solve it!
Only those who emerged victorious could claim their prize: a special card featuring some original artwork.

The photo spot was super popular as well.
Everyone looked so happy to have a chance to take a picture with Goku!

2 pm: Time for the Stage Events to Start!

Dokkan Battle's main producer Omatsu teamed up with special quest Sunshine Ikezaki for this exclusive stage event! The event was loaded with juicy details about Dokkan Battle's 9th anniversary.

The theme for the 9th anniversary is "SUPER"!
As such, this year's campaign features a login bonus where you can recruit Gogeta
from "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" to your team,
and also adds new character categories like "Super Bosses" to the game!

Part 1 of the 9th anniversary features the Dokkan Festival and Legendary Summon Carnival summons, and the new characters debuting in these summons were also announced! Fans expressed their excitement at the reveals for Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power) and Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta!!

2:40 pm: The Venue-Exclusive Stage Event Begins!

After the broadcast finished, three exclusive stage events took place at the venue!
​

The first of these events was the "Producer Talk Session", in which Omatsu himself answered questions collected from fans before the fan meeting.
The questions from Dokkan diehards included topics like how to improve Dokkan's UI and more!
​

Next up was the lottery event, in which a drawing was held using the numbers given out to attendees on their "My Data ID" cards.
Tons of awesome goodies were up for grabs here, including the jaw dropping 1st Prize: an original, B2-sized poster signed by Masako Nozawa, Ryo Horikawa, and Bin Shimada (the Japanese voice actors for Goku, Vegeta, and Broly)!

Finally, the Special Prize rounded off these goodies and rewarded an impressive 90 Dragon Stones!
It's a prize that would make any player ecstatic, and 8 lucky fans walked away a little bit more prepared
for the awesome summons coming their way.

Last but not least, the final stage event was an announcement of the attendee with the highest in-game Power Level! A special award ceremony was even held for this momentous occasion. In Dokkan Battle, your account's Power Level increases as you play the game. The fan with the highest Power Level here boasted a whopping power of 14,999,008, which was a huge jump up from the 2nd highest Power Level at the venue! The winner was presented with a golden Mr. Satan statue as proof of their accomplishment.

Even after the venue-exclusive stage events ended there was still tons to do, as a special version of the Dokkan Ultimate Exciting Battle was held at the Challenge Corner from 4 pm.

This event was playable using a special item distributed to the accounts of attendees, and players who managed to clear missions were able to earn 9th Anniversary Fan Meeting Coins as a reward. And to make things even more incredible, participants could get in-game rewards based on the total number of coins earned by everyone at the event, so everybody went all out!

There were 3 levels of rewards available,
with STEP 3 offering Dragon Stones as a prize to all Dokkan players!

Lots of Exclusive Souvenirs & Presents for Attendees!

Fan meeting attendees were able to get their hands on special souvenirs and even some cool novelty items!

Stickers were also available to fans who answered a survey.
Guessing which sticker was inside was super exciting!

And to finish things off right, attendees got a special tabletop calendar upon departing from the event.
