The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week, let's take a look at Tapion from the movie, "Dragon Ball Z: Wrath of the Dragon"!
A hero who has become a legend in the South Galaxy.
1000 years ago, Tapion used a legendary flute to calm the phantom Hirudegan who had attacked the Planet Konats. He sealed the lower half of the phantom into his younger brother Minoshiya, and the upper half into his own body.
To prevent Hirudegan from being resurrected again, Tapion was sealed inside a music box. But the seal was broken by the sorcerer Hoi.
The lower half of Hirudegan, having also been revived by Hoi, attacks Earth. Even though Tapion tried to resist using the power of his legendary flute, the force pulling Hirudegan's upper and lower body to each other gradually grew stronger, until the upper body that had been sealed within Tapion finally broke free.
Not wanting the planet Earth to fall victim as his world did, Tapion joined Goku and the others to combat the fully revived Hirudegan.

He gives Trunks the legendary sword!
Fearing Hirudegan's resurrection, Tapion avoids contact with Goku and the others. But he gradually opens up to Trunks, who sees him like an older brother. In return, Tapion sees his younger brother, Minoshiya, who sacrificed himself in an attempt to keep Hirudegan sealed away, in Trunks. He then entrusts Trunks with his legendary sword as they part ways.
