Story

Spopovich is one of the contestants at the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai.

While being controlled by the evil warlock Babidi, he joins the tournament to gather energy to resurrect the dreaded Majin Buu.
With Babidi's magic granting him unnatural power, Spopovich remains in a bizarre, hyper-excited state at all times.

Spopovich faces off against Videl at the Tenkaichi Budokai.
He tanks Videl's onslaught of attacks, and despite taking what should be critical damage, seems completely unfazed. He even gets his neck broken by a kick that spins his head completely around, but eerily fixes it by snapping it back into place using his unnatural strength.

Pressured by her bizarre opponent, Videl takes evasive action and goes aerial by using Buku-jutsu (Levitation Technique). However, Spopovich gives chase and knocks the World Champ's daughter back down to the ring with a point-blank Ki shockwave.

Spopovich then goes on a sickening rampage that leaves Videl bloody and battered...
The brutal giant seems determined to continue until he gets reprimanded by his partner Yamu, who scolds him by saying "This isn't what we set out to do." Uttering only "Oh yeah..." in response, Spopovich then finally drags Videl out of the ring to end the fight.

The next match of the tournament features Gohan, who unleashes his Super Saiyan transformation to a stunned crowd. Seeing an opportunity to steal a large amount of energy and speed along Majin Buu's revival, Spopovich and Yamu jump into the ring and drain the teenage warrior's surging energy.

Spopovich and his partner then flee the tournament and successfully bring the stolen energy back to their master.
The duo expected this to please the warlock, but they instead end up meeting horrifically grisly ends when Babidi declared that he didn't need them anymore.

Trivia

In addition to his power, Babidi's mind control also drastically affected Spopovich's appearance!

The tournament announcer knew Spopovich from previous years and he remarked, "You look so different from before. I didn't recognize you." upon seeing him at the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai. Other contestants were equally perplexed by the change, saying stuff like "Yeah...I didn't recognize him at first..."
