As part of the franchise's 40th anniversary celebrations, all things Dragon Ball were gathered under one roof at the invitation-only, free admission event Dragon Ball DAIMATSURI, held on Sunday, October 6th at Tokyo Big Sight!

Immediately upon entering the venue, the first thing visitors saw was the Welcome Zone!
A giant version of Goku (Mini) and Supreme Kai (Mini) was there to greet them!
Inside the Welcome Zone, a setup of giant monitors displaying Dragon Ball DAIMA imagery awaited guests!
Together with the lighting and sound effects, it felt just like stepping into the world of the DAIMA anime!
In the exhibition corner commemorating Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary, a lineup of Weekly Shonen Jump covers going all the way back to the beginning was on full display!
Seeing Goku change and grow up from cover to cover, it's hard not to get a little emotional!
At this photo spot, visitors could snap pics of themselves with the collected spine illustrations from the Dragon Ball manga!
Plus, a message board was set up for anyone to offer their congratulations on the 40th anniversary!
Messages from Masako Nozawa, as well as from cast members of Dragon Ball DAIMA who appeared onstage were featured right in the center.
Visitors were also free to add their messages! Thank you all for your kind words and support!
Additionally, special 40th anniversary merch featuring illustrations from the manga were available for presale!
More than a few visitors were spotted immediately sporting their newly purchased knapsacks, beanies, and more!
For those who missed out, these items will be available for pre-order on Premium Bandai starting October 13th, 2024!

Over at the DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World booth, a tournament was held, with commemorative items on the line!
Tournament finalists received Alt-Art cards as a special commemorative prize.
For the very first time, kids elementary school aged and younger got their own exclusive tournament, and some fierce battles unfolded there as well!
With a demo section for the digital card game and physical cards on display, there was lots to show off for Fusion World!
An array of trial areas were available, where visitors could play demos of the newest games, experience Dragon Ball through minigames, and more!
First up is Dragon Ball Super Divers, officially coming Thursday, November 7th!
With a new cabinet, three massive monitors, and touch panels, players got to experience some fierce battles for their first look at this game!
Over at the DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO booth, a huge balloon version of Goku was on display!
At the time, this game hadn't been released yet, so this was another chance for players to be the first to try out an exciting new Dragon Ball game!
Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and Dragon Ball Legends had a giant Summon area!
Depending on the results of each Summon, players received either a phone tab, a clear file folder, or a sticker!
Over at the plastic model trial area, visitors could try their hand at putting together a Goku figure themselves, free of charge!
Plus, participants were able to take home their newly assembled Goku figures!
In the kids' area, visitors had three options to choose from!
One of these was a Japanese smart ball machine for parents and children to enjoy together!
At the Toy & Hobby Zone, the newest figures and merch were the stars of the show!

Here, visitors could get a look at the S.H.Figuarts Goku & Dragon - 40th Anniversary Edition - figure prototype!
For now, this amazing item is only available to anyone who applies through V Jump's super-sized December edition, on sale starting Monday, October 21st!

Also showcased by S.H.Figuarts were Goku and Vegeta figures currently available for pre-order, as well as a sample version of Gomah!
Plus, a new Dragon Ball DAIMA character made their first appearance here...!
