The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week we're taking a look at the cowardly cur Cranberry from Dragon Ball Super!

A former member of the Frieza Force turned deserter, who was later imprisoned in the Galactic Prison. During his days in the Frieza Force, he learned of the Dragon Balls and sought a partner to help him hunt them down.
Cranberry reaches out to the villainous Moro, who had destroyed a countless number of planets 10 million years prior, and escapes the Galactic Prison with the help of Moro's magic. In exchange for letting Moro use one of the wishes, Cranberry negotiates a deal to use the third wish to escape to a far-off planet where neither the Galactic Patrol nor the Frieza Force can find him.

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 44)
By request of the Galactic Patrol, Goku and Vegeta pursue Moro to New Planet Namek.
Witnessing Vegeta corner Moro, Cranberry frantically tries to escape, saying, "Yikes... If Moro actually loses, I'm headed back to the slammer!"

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 45)
After Goku and Vegeta's defeat, Cranberry tries to save face, claiming, "I was sure you could beat them all along." Unsurprisingly, Moro is not convinced.

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 46)
Thanks to Moro's impressive capabilities, they are able to gather six of the Dragon Balls in no time. Then, while Moro is keeping the Great Supreme Kai busy in battle, he gets his hands on the seventh Dragon Ball.

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 47)
Grabbing Eska, a Namekian, they call forth Porunga, and Cranberry wishes for his injuries to be healed.

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 48)
After being caught going back on their deal by Moro, Cranberry uses the second wish to restore Moro's magic power to its full glory.

(Dragon Ball Super Chapter 48)
Cranberry attempts to use the third wish to escape to a planet out of the reach of the Galactic Patrol, the Frieza Force, and of course, Moro. However, he is taken out of commission by Moro, who intends to claim the final wish for himself.

"Dragon Ball Super" Chapter 44
Thanks to Dragon Ball Super, we get to see the details of Cranberry's life!
Cranberry was among the soldiers sent to Planet Namek but was defeated by one of the youths in Elder Muri's village, and ultimately killed by Zarbon with a single kick. Brought back by Mr. Popo's wish to "restore the beings killed by Frieza and his men to life", Cranberry boards the Space Pod used by Vegeta and makes his escape from Planet Namek. From there, he flew under the Frieza Force's radar, at least until his capture by the Galactic Patrol.
