The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This time, we're looking at a character for whom it is certainly not easy being green, Froug!

Story


This warrior appeared in the Another World Budokai representing the South Galaxy. Amongst all the other competitors, he stands out with his dashing amphibian appearance.

Making his way through the preliminaries and into the finals, his next match is against the warrior representing the West Galaxy, Maraikoh. With a powerful battle cry, he leaps in to deliver a flying kick, but his opponent punches him back easily.

After a graceful mid-air flip, he lands back on the ground safely. Sizing up his much larger opponent, he comments, "You think being bigger than me is funny, huh?" Then, in a ribbiting display, he then proceeds to inflate his body to an enormous size.

Froug attempts to use his massive bulk to push his opponent out of the ring, but Maraikoh uses his impressive strength to pick up Froug and throw him into the cosmos.

This wasn't the last time we saw Froug!

Froug appears once again in episode 280 of Dragon Ball Z, where he is joined by Maraikoh and others on the Planet of the Grand Kai as they watch Goku's fight against Majin Buu.
