When Turles forces Gohan into a Great Ape Transformation using his Power Ball, Hire−Dragon desperately calls out to him, causing Gohan to regain his senses.

Though very kind and gentle towards Gohan, he attacks Shenron on sight, showing that he has a fierce side too.
