Welcome to the "World DB Goods!!" series, where we collect and test out interesting Dragon Ball items from all around the word!
For this first entry into the series, we're taking a look at "ARCADE MINI", which is primarily available in Europe.
Just as the name suggests, the ARCADE MINI looks like a miniature version of an arcade cabinet you might find at your local game center! But it's not just for show—it appears that you can use it as a kind of accessory for your Nintendo Switch to turn it into a playable arcade machine!
Upon opening the box, we were greeted by the likes of Goku, Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan, all lined up from tallest to shortest! You could almost prop these wonderful illustrations up by themselves to decorate your room, but we think the sum of these parts are bound to make for a greater whole, so let's try putting them together!
Being a product from Europe, the instructions are laid out in English. But don't worry! Even if English isn't your strong suit, the parts have been designed to be a breeze to assemble, so all you have to do is insert the tabs into the right slots!
It turns out that some parts have different graphics printed on each of their sides, so you can customize your setup just the way you like it! The design we first saw when we opened the box was the battle for Planet Namek, but here you can also see illustrations inspired by the Tournament of Power arc from Dragon Ball Super! You can switch up the look of your arcade cabinet on a whim, or maybe even give it a different look for different games!
The ARCADE MINI really starts to look the part when you slot in your Nintendo Switch and get a game running! First, you'll have to slide off the Joy-Cons, then you can just insert the console from the opening on the top. There's also a handy space underneath for your charger cord to run through, so you won't have to stop in the middle of a battle to power up!
And what better game to give the ARCADE MINI a test run with than "Dragon Ball FighterZ", with all its promise of providing that classic arcade fighting game experience—and oh boy did it deliver! It almost felt like we were playing a whole new game console! The Dragon Ball Z design will of course also go well with the Nintendo Switch version of "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot", which is set to go on sale in September!
That's all for now, but we'll be back next time with more awesome Dragon Ball items from around the world just as soon as we find them! See you then!
