The World Travelogue series is where we shine the spotlight on some of the most memorable locations in the world of Dragon Ball. This time, we'll be exploring the world's western metropolis and hub of all cutting-edge technology, West City!

West City is the most technologically advanced city in the world—even the data of its citizens is managed by computers! It is also the home of the world-leading Capsule Corporation. Did you know that Capsule Corporation was built by Bulma's father, Dr. Brief, on the success of his innovative Hoipoi Capsules and now manufactures and sells a wide variety of items? Their most popular products by far are their vehicles, which account for more than 40% of the worldwide vehicle market alone!

〇Bulma
West City is Bulma's hometown. Her family's mansion is the largest in the city, once housing Yamcha, Oolong, Pual, Vegeta, and others, and it was even big enough for all the Namekians who lost their homes on Planet Namek to live in.

〇Dr. Brief
Dr. Brief built Capsule Corporation on the success of his ingenious invention, Hoipoi Capsules. It's also worth noting that Capsule Corporation's headquarters are separate from Dr. Brief's Laboratory and mansion, located elsewhere in West City.

〇Vegeta
Vegeta took up residence at Capsule Corporation after the battle against Frieza. Dr. Brief built him a special Gravity Room at his behest.

〇Trunks
Trunks is the son of Bulma and Vegeta. He enjoys a more spoiled upbringing than his future counterpart due to being born into a world where the Android threat had already been eliminated.

〇Goku
Goku came here after his many battles at Muscle Tower to have the Dragon Radar repaired. He was also hospitalized in West City after his battle with Vegeta.

〇Gohan
Gohan was admitted to a hospital in West City along with Goku and his friends after their battle with Vegeta. He later visited Capsule Corporation as a high school student to have Bulma design a suit he could use to transform into his crime-fighting alter ago.

〇Yamcha, Oolong, and Pual
These three moved to West City on Bulma's invitation following their adventure at Pilaf's Castle.

Surrounding Area

〇Site of the Battle against Vegeta (Southeast of West City)
Goku moved his final battle with Vegeta to this location after defeating Nappa. The area consists primarily of rocky mountains.

So there you have it! This city appears a lot throughout the series as many of Bulma's friends come here to visit her. West City is quite a glamorous place, but take one step outside the metropolis and you'll find many areas still left in their natural state.
