The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week we're dropping in with a friendly face and the "king" of the northern region of the universe, Kaio North!

Kaio North is a bewilderingly powerful divine being who rules over the Northern realm of the universe, which is where Goku and friends happen to live. He lives with his pet monkey, Bubbles, on the Planet of the Kaio, where gravity is ten times stronger than it is on Earth! His hobbies include driving and telling awful jokes.

Upon Goku successfully capturing the elusive monkey, Kaio acknowledges his vast potential and resolves to teach him the deadly Kaio-ken technique that even he himself had failed to master.

By adjusting the direction of his antennae, Kaio is able to see events unfolding in far-off locations.
