Welcome back to the Namek Editorial, where the magnificence and mystique of Namekians is eloquently explained to the people of Earth by the lead writer for the site's Namek branch!
In this entry, we'll be showcasing the new "Dragon Ball Super Warrior Sticker Wafers -Super-" set, Zenshin Zenrei no Ichigeki (roughly, "Full-Body, Full-Spirit Strike"), which is currently flying off store shelves across Japan. Why publish a feature article on stickers in the Namek Editorial, you ask? Well, because there's a stunning suite of Namekian stickers in the lineup, of course!
The first sticker we'd like to highlight is this stunning recreation of the number one Great Demon King Piccolo scene as voted by you in the poll we ran through the Namek Editorial last year on Great Demon King Piccolo Commemoration Day. The Namekian tyrant's famous last moments can be relived in all their gory by tilting the sticker back and forth—a special feature of the "Changing Rare" rarity in which it's been created.
The fan-favorite scene is looking as great as ever in Super Warrior Sticker Wafers' unique art style, and you can watch it play out again and again thanks to the technological marvel that is the Changing Rare! We've posted a 10-minute video above where you can wistfully watch the sticker in action to your heart's content, but to truly appreciate the quality and care poured into its design, we can only recommend that you get your hands on the real thing. But be warned—one look and you might never be able to take your eyes off it again!
This grand figure is Great Demon King Piccolo before his youthful rejuvenation by the power of the Dragon Balls! He appeared only once before in the very first set of Super Warrior Sticker Wafers, but after a six-year hiatus the demon king has returned to the limelight at long last, laying the egg of one of his underlings for this new entry.
Don't you just love the sense of motion with the way the egg plops out of his mouth?
This set also serves as the debut stage for Great Demon King Piccolo's three underlings! On the left there's the demon king's personal assistant, Piano; to the far right is Tambourine, a dangerous fighter who felled Krillin and many other competitors of the Tenkaichi Budokai; and towering in center frame is Cymbal, the draconic warrior who was unfortunately sliced, diced, and seared over a hot flame by Yajirobe.
Fun fact: the egg that Great Demon King Piccolo is expelling in the previous sticker above belongs to Cymbal!
Next, we have a young Piccolo from a time not too long after hatching from his egg. He might look green now, but the nascent Namekian will mature into the adult Piccolo we're most familiar with in just three years! No matter how earnestly he clenches his fists and says, "I hate peace!", we just can't get over how cute his little round body is!
This dashing figure is Piccolo after he merged with Kami in order to take on Android 17! You can almost hear the "fwosh!" of his turban and cape as he tosses them aside to prepare for battle. Everything from his smoldering glare to the way his right hand sweeps behind him has been recreated from the original scene, which is absolutely one of Piccolo's finest. We'd love to go into more verbose detail, but right now there's only one word that comes to mind for this sticker: cool.
This sticker was inspired by Piccolo's appearance in the ending of the Dragon Ball GT anime! In the actual ending, this scene flashes on-screen in time with the song's eponymous lyric in the chorus, "Don't you see!", adding even more emphasis to an already memorable piece. We're sure that like us, many Namekian fans out there would love to capture that moment and rewatch it over and over, and now you can with this wonderful sticker!
Of course, stickers are made to be sticked onto things, but some collectors prefer to keep their precious memorabilia in mint condition. If that sounds like you, why not try displaying your favorites inside a picture frame? We personally recommend standing a frame full of Piccolo stickers in your living room so that you can pay your respects at any time.
All the stickers in this Super Warrior Sticker Wafers set look fantastic, even ones that don't feature our beloved Namekians, so be sure to head down to your nearest candy store and try to find them!
And it's not just stickers—Piccolo will also be making an appearance in Dragon Ball Super Warrior Figures #6, which is set to hit shelves in May this year!!
The figure pictured above is a 3D version of a Piccolo sticker that appeared in last year's Dragon Ball Super Warrior Sticker Wafers -Super- set #1. Just look at that vascular cranium!
Be sure to mark the release date down in your Earth calendars!
