Upon hearing that Frieza had been resurrected, Granolah saw his chance to avenge his planet and fellow Cerealians in reach at long last. He assembled the Cerealian Dragon Balls and wished to become the greatest warrior in the universe—a wish that was granted at the cost of dramatically shortening his own lifespan!

The leader of the Heeters, Elec, was plotting to use the Frieza Force to conquer the universe, but when he found out about Granolah's miraculous powerup, he knew that the Cerealian posed a threat to his plans. He would also need to dispose of the Saiyans Goku and Vegeta, who had defeated Moro. And so to rid himself of all three obstacles in his path in one fell swoop, Elec conjured up a sinister scheme to exploit Granolah's hatred of Saiyans to trick him into fighting the two, and with any luck, they would destroy each other without him having to lift a finger.

With Elec pulling the strings, Goku and Vegeta were lured to Planet Cereal, where Granolah was waiting, and a vicious battle broke out between them! Each side employed their most powerful techniques against the other—Granolah with his unequaled power granted by the Cerealian Dragon Balls, Goku with his refined Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta with his new Ultra Ego form attained through training with Beerus!

During their battle, Monaito, a Namekian living on Planet Cereal who raised Granolah, intervened and told Granolah the truth about what happened on the day the Frieza Force attacked. As it turns out, the ones responsible for the invasion were the Heeters themselves, and that it was in fact a Saiyan, Goku's father, Bardock, who had saved their lives!

Now that Granolah had learned the truth, the Heeters were forced to step out of the shadows to execute their plan in person! And to make sure the job got done, Elec had used the Cerealian Dragon Balls to turn his brother, Gas, into the new strongest warrior in the universe!

Having become even stronger than Granolah, Gas overwhelmed Goku and the others with ease. Granolah was knocked out by a powerful attack from Gas, but Vegeta rushed to his aid and delivered a rousing speech that gave the Cerealian the resolve he needed to stand and face Gas once more! From there, Granolah fought toe-to-toe against Gas in an all-out showdown, and even landed a devastating attack on the Heeter!
