May 9th is Goku Day! Why May 9th, you ask? Well, when you write the date out numerically it becomes 5/9, and since 5 and 9 can be read as "Go" and "Ku" in Japanese, the numbers combine to make Goku's Japanese kanji! Thus, May 9th became Goku Day!

And that's not all! May 8th is Gohan Day, and May 9th is Goten Day! As you can see, it's the perfect time of the year to celebrate the Son family.
