The digital version of the world's newest and highly acclaimed Dragon Ball trading card game, DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World, is now live!

In part 1 of this report, our Dragon Ball Official Site staff members took on the digital version's tutorial.

Now in part 2, we're going to get to the really good stuff and start opening up some Booster Packs! In addition, we have the producer of Fusion World's digital version here to give us the low-down on all the enjoyable aspects of that version of the game!

The Digital Version of Fusion World Features Premium Cards!

—Producer, thanks for joining us today! For starters, what should we be doing after beating the tutorial?

Your first goal should be to create a deck.
After clearing the tutorial, you'll get a ticket you can exchange for a starter deck of your choosing, so head over to the in-game Store and pick one!
Once you've selected a deck, you'll automatically clear missions that reward premium versions of that starter deck's Leader Card and relevant SR cards.
When you're just getting started, I highly recommend that you include those premium cards in your deck.

—Wow, this version has some dazzling card effects!

Just like the name suggests, premium cards offer some extra special effects for players to enjoy. These first ones are easy to get, but don't be fooled: they're some potent, must-have cards.
Once you've received your starter deck and extra cards from the missions, you'll be able to create a deck using 3 copies of said starter deck's trademark SR cards.

—That makes me wonder: Do Booster Packs contain premium cards, too?

Yes, they do! Premium versions are available for Leader Cards and SR and higher rarity cards.
In particular, SCR and Alternative-Art cards also have premium versions, so make sure to try them out if you're lucky enough to pull some!

In Search of Strong Cards, We Opened Some Booster Packs!

—So, just how do you get Booster Packs in this game?

You can buy Booster Packs with the Gems you get from the Login Bonus and as various in-game rewards.

Also, if you've purchased Booster Packs, Starter Decks, or other applicable items for the physical version of Fusion World, you can enter the serial codes contained within those to get exchange tickets for the digital version.

—Oh, so I see that you can purchase up to 10 Booster Packs at a time.

That's right. When you do so, you are guaranteed to get one SR-rarity or higher card within those packs, so I really recommend that you save up your Gems until you can afford 10 packs.

So, let's jump right in! Try it out by purchasing 10 packs here.

Is it just me, or are some of those packs glowing...?

Packs that have some rare stuff inside will glow even before you open them.
Each color has a meaning: a yellow glow means there's an R-rarity card, blue means there's a Leader Card, purple means there's an SR card, and red means there's an SCR card inside. So if you see a red glow here, get ready for something incredible to appear!

—So the rarities are already decided at this point?

Oh, it's not quite that simple! Once you open the pack and select a card, sometimes a special animation will play and the rarity will get upgraded, so you can keep your hopes up 'til the very end!

—We ended up getting an SR card from a Booster Pack that started out only glowing yellow!

Use the cards you pull from Booster Packs to power up your decks!

Use "Wild Card" Points to Get Rare Cards!

—I ended up getting dupes of some cards. Since you can only include 4 copies of a given card in your deck, it kind of feels like overkill...

In that case, you'll definitely want to utilize the "Wild Card" system to put those unneeded cards to good use.
Once you have 4 copies of a card, you'll automatically receive "Wild Card" points each time you pull an additional copy. And when the gauge for a particular rarity becomes full, you can exchange those points for a same rarity card of your choosing!

Please note that you can't exchange for Alternative-Art versions or premium versions of cards here, so you'll have to pull those directly from Booster Packs yourself.

—So that premium card I pulled earlier was a real find!

Train Your Skills Against the CPU, Then Try Facing Real Opponents!

—I managed to win against the CPU, so now I want to try my luck in some Ranked Matches!

The matchmaking for Ranked Matches will place you up against other similarly ranked players, but if you're a beginner, fighting against the CPU is a fine option until you've gained some experience.
Once you've gotten used to playing against the CPU, I recommend that you try out some Free Matches next.
Once you've grown accustomed to those, you should be ready to aim for the top in Ranked Matches!

Choose the mode that suits you.

In addition to those, there's also the Room Match mode where you can create a room and play with people you know. Here, you can battle friends and spectate matches, so it's another great stepping stone to get you ready for Ranked Matches.
​

You can even create massive rooms for up to 50 players at once in the Room Match mode. You can also choose a time limit that suits your needs: unlimited for ease of use, or with a specific time limit to recreate tournament settings.

Got Some Super Saiyan Style? Strut Your Stuff On the Player Card!

—I noticed the Player Card icon on the home screen, but just what can you do there?

The Player Card lets you change your character's appearance to suit you.
There, you can change your character's skin color, eye color, face, hairstyle, clothes and more to your heart's content. We plan to continue adding more options for you to choose from in the future.

Change things up to match your personal style!

On top of that, certain missions and rank rewards will net you special stickers that you can display on your Player Card, so be sure to collect those and then show off your hard-earned achievements.

The in-game store even has eyewear and other goodies up for grabs!

Jam-Packed With Fun Extras!

—From premium cards to the Player Card feature, it seems like the digital version has tons of amazing exclusives!

We went through a lot of trial and error to ensure that the digital version would be a blast for everyone to play. One example of this is the little extras we included in the stages you battle on.
Each stage was created to have that certain Dragon Ball charm, and each one actually has different effects that occur when you click on it. So try breaking rocks on the tournament stage, scattering leaves on the Planet Namek stage, and all the other options we included in the game. (Laughs)

The digital version of Fusion World is free to play and lets you jump right into the game as you learn in battles against the CPU.
