Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, the culmination of the Dragon Ball 40th anniversary celebrations, took place at Makuhari Messe on January 25th!

We're showcasing the mountain of Dragon Ball content that was on display at this event, including manga, animation, games, toys, figures, and more! GENKIDASTAGE! Super New Announcements! Part 1

Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku, and Akio Iyoku, executive producer for the Dragon Ball series, appeared to kick off the first onstage event! After reflecting on all the exciting developments during the year of Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary, such as the premiere of the Dragon Ball DAIMA anime and the opening of the Dragon Ball Store, a special Dragon Ball 40th anniversary video was unveiled!

The animation utilized and combined filming techniques customized to the unique characteristics of each illustration in order to make moving pictures that faithfully conveyed the diversity of Akira Toriyama's artistic expressions!
Remarkably, the music was produced by none other than world-renowned film composer Hans Zimmer!

At the end of the video, some super news was revealed: production of the Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime! The story picks up where the Universe Survival arc left off, which is covered in the Dragon Ball Super manga as the Galactic Patrol Prisoner arc! Goku and Vegeta team up with the Galactic Patrol, guardians of peace throughout the galaxy, in a huge-scale, all-out battle against a new formidable foe, Planet-Eater Moro!

GENKIDASTAGE+: New Game Announcement Onstage Event!

As implied by the title of this stage event, the producer for Bandai Namco Entertainment appeared for a huge new game reveal, featuring an as-yet-unseen, brand-new Dragon Ball universe and characters created by Akira Toriyama himself! This was the announcement for the all-new game project AGE 1000!

The tournament rules and trophy for the Dragon Ball FighterZ Masters Showdown, taking place at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026, were also revealed! What's more, news on DLC for the smash-hit games DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 was also showcased!

But that's not all! There was more news regarding the major DLC coming to the hit 3D action game DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO! This massive DLC features new playable characters, outfits, moves, stages, modes, and much more! Plus, the theme song, "ZERO", was written and composed by Hironobu Kageyama! The venue went crazy hearing the song played live!

GENKIDASTAGE! Super New Announcements! Part 2

With the excitement for the reveal of the new Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime still buzzing in the air, another show was revealed! Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an enhanced version of the Dragon Ball Super anime, is set to air on TV in Japan on the Fuji Television network in fall 2026! Staying true to the meaning of "enhanced", this production employs the latest film techniques to improve on the series and heighten the intensity and immersion of every scene, including the battles, in order to faithfully bring Akira Toriyama's original concept and universe to life!

Masako Nozawa, Akio Iyoku, and the voice actor for Beerus, Koichi Yamadera, all appeared onstage! Upon watching the Super announcement trailer, Ms. Nozawa excitedly remarked at how surprised she was by it, while Mr. Yamadera commented on how happy he was to see Beerus depicted in an even cooler style!

Dokkan Battle, LEGENDS, and GEKISHIN SQUADRA Stage

The producers for Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle, DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, and DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA all appeared for a triple title joint stage! They were joined by special guests and Dragon Ball fans Rie Ishikawa and the Tokyo Hoteison duo to take part in some fierce battles in DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA! After some intense back-and-forth action, the guest team emerged the victors! The teammates all high-fived each other in jubilation, as the audience erupted in thunderous applause!

After the match, an announcement was made for the Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle 11th Anniversary Live Broadcast! The hit Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle 11th Anniversary campaign is currently underway!

Two Major Card Games Teaming Up!
Fusion World x Super Divers Special Stage

The two main card games for Dragon Ball, the high-octane trading card game DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World, and the digital card game Dragon Ball Super Divers made their first ever co-appearance in an onstage event!

Kicking things off was the very first opening of DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World's second anniversary -DUAL EVOLUTION- [FB09] booster packs! Hideaki Ito, a self-professed mega fan of both card games, and Minami Shinohara, a familiar face on Fusion World streams, both tried their luck. Incredibly, Mr. Ito managed to draw an ultra-rare Super Alt-Art Leader card, marking the card's first-ever reveal!

After the opening, a slew of new information was announced, including the reveal of Alt-Art cards in the -DUAL EVOLUTION- [FB09] booster packs, OFFICIAL CARD SLEEVES 04, the 10th set of booster packs -CROSS FORCE- [FB10], a new book titled "2nd COMPLETE CARD COLLECTION" commemorating the second anniversary, and much more!

A Live Edition of Weekly Dragonball News!

A live edition of this site's Weekly Dragonball News, broadcast every Monday, took place! Victory Uchida and Victory Asada took to the stage to reflect on all the new announcements made during the event and to reveal info on a ton of new merch! Genkidamatsuri Special Live Stage

The final onstage event featured a heartfelt performance by Hironobu Kageyama singing "WE GOTTA POWER", "We Were Angels", and "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA"! A Genki-Dama was then unleashed into the sky, using the energy summoned from all venue attendees along with Ms. Nozawa and the other hosts who took part in events on the stage throughout the day!

A deluge of new info was unleashed at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri!
