[Part 1] Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri Report! Check Out the Venue Packed with Must-See Displays!
Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, the culmination of the Dragon Ball 40th anniversary celebrations, took place at Makuhari Messe on January 25th!

Welcome Zone
A massive balloon of Goku atop Kintoun was on display overlooking the entrance! Opening and ending sequences from throughout the series could be seen playing on a large monitor, making it the perfect starting point for this 40th anniversary event!
Akira Toriyama Original Artwork Display
The Akira Toriyama Original Artwork Display was a must-see among the countless exhibitions onsite! Four items were featured, including Weekly Shonen Jump front cover illustrations and manga title pages! Attendees gathered en masse for this rare opportunity to feel the sheer power of the lines one can only experience in the original artwork and colors crafted by Akira Toriyama himself!
Dragon Ball Moments
Massive acrylic stands of Goku used in marketing for the Genkidamatsuri event were lined up on display in the Dragon Ball Moments corner! Through Warp-sama's mouth stood statues from the Dragon Ball DAIMA anime, as well as illustrations by Akira Toriyama, some of which were revealed for the very first time!
40th Anniversary All Things Dragon Ball Display
Another must-see was the impressive 40th Anniversary All Things Dragon Ball Display! Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, this display showcased a wide array of merchandise released throughout its long history, plus original scripts from the anime series and movies! You could really feel the evolution of the games and figures, from all the classics right up to the latest merch!
S.H.Figuarts: SON GOKU 〈ONWARDS TO ADVENTURE〉was also unveiled at this event, making its first public appearance in this corner! This deluxe poseable figure and history book set is available for pre-order until March 31st, so be sure to check out the related article!
Dragon Ball Official Site Booth
The Dragon Ball Official Site was also featured at the event with our very own booth!
Attendees could take a closer look at the voting results for DRAGON BALL THE ONE, the worldwide character popularity poll held from November 20th, 2025. The original plastic file folders we distributed were quite the hit! Plus, the signed board of Goku drawn by Toyotarou for the voting results announcement on YouTube was also on display!
Dragon Ball Play Park
The Dragon Ball Play Park was brimming with excitement!
It featured a wide variety of activities for visitors to enjoy, including the Dragon Ball Ball Pit, where attendees searched for the seven Dragon Balls amongst a sea of other balls, and the Nyoibo Attraction, where attendees took down enemies from the Dragon Ball DAIMA anime! What's more, everyone added their contribution to the Super Genki-Dama Wall, culminating in the creation of a colossal Genki-Dama! The wall also included messages from Masako Nozawa, Koichi Yamadera, and Hironobu Kageyama, who all appeared onstage!
DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World Booth
Card and game booths also made their appearance at this event!
The booth for the high-octane trading card game DRAGON BALL SUPER CARD GAME Fusion World hosted the special competitive event Ultimate Battle EX at Genkidamatsuri, where, after some intense battles, the top player from each group of 64 entrants received a serial-numbered "Gogeta: BR" [FB09-007] card!
Dragon Ball Super Divers Booth
The Limited Cup 2025-2026 Finals, a tournament to determine Japan's first top player for 2026, was held onstage inside the Dragon Ball Super Divers booth! This booth was loaded with thrills, including a free demo of Dragon Ball Super Divers, photo spots, all the latest cards on display, and more!

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO Playable Demo Booth
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO has a major DLC coming up, and visitors could enjoy the Nintendo Switch 2 version of this fabulous game at this booth! You could stick to the standard controls, or grab a Joy-Con 2 to step into the shoes of Goku and the others and battle with motion control!
Plus, four hololive-affiliated VTubers tried their hand at coming up with an Extra Battle of their very own!
A Joint Booth Featuring Three Titles: Dokkan Battle, LEGENDS, and GEKISHIN SQUADRA
A booth combining three titles, the app games Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle and DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, along with DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA, which features thrilling cross-platform play, made its appearance! It was packed with attendees taking pictures at the photo spot and enjoying minigames to win novelty items!
Genkidamatsuri Official Shop, Ichiban Kuji, and Gashapon®
Each retail corner was fully stocked with official event merch, plus 40th anniversary commemorative items!
Some products on pre-sale at the event will be made available for purchase at a later date, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!
