Dragon Ball FighterZ is a game that's popular in both the competitive esports scene as well as for casual play in the comfort of your own home. For those of you who may have heard of it but never played, or who are fans of the anime but not of fighting games, we've created this four-part spectator's guide to help you get in on the action and enjoy watching all the high-speed excitement of Dragon Ball FighterZ!

Dragon Ball FighterZ (or just "FighterZ") is a fighting game where teams of Dragon Ball characters go head-to-head in battle.

Besides the action-packed battles themselves, one of FighterZ's primary features is its ultra-high-quality 2.5D graphics that make you feel like you've been put in the driver's seat of an epic clash straight out of the anime.

2.5D graphics combine the 2D of anime with digital 3D to create a new visual style that looks amazing even before there's any fighting involved! Having characters designed in 3D duke it out on a 2D playing field makes it feel like they're about to jump right out of the screen and immerses players in a way that's only possible with 2.5D.

Play as Goku, Vegeta, and a Jam-Packed Cast of Other Dragon Ball Characters!

FighterZ features playable characters from throughout the series, from classic Dragon Ball Z all the way up to Dragon Ball Super.

And along with your favorite heroes like Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks, there's also a special original character called Android 21, whose design was overseen by Akira Toriyama himself!

Nappa: He may be a villain in the original series who invaded Earth alongside Vegeta, but in FighterZ you can harness the power of this hulking Saiyan for yourself. He can even plant Saibamen in the ground that automatically sprout up and attack your opponent! His combination of brute strength and tricky zoning tools like the Saibamen make for quite a unique playstyle.

Android 21: FighterZ's very own original character! In classic Android fashion, 21 can absorb energy from her opponents and then use it to perform new special moves or even blast it back at them all at once to inflict massive damage!

String Together Combos with Ease Thanks to the Beginner-Friendly Controls!!

When it comes to battles in Dragon Ball, it's all about fighters throwing out attack after attack at break-neck speed—and thanks to the combo system in FighterZ, all that speed and power is right at your fingertips!

You can even perform combos by simply tapping the same attack button repeatedly, and all characters generally have the same input commands for executing their special moves! The benefit of a command layout that's shared across most characters like this is that even if you're new to fighting games, once you pick up the basics with one character, you'll be able to try out any of the others without having to relearn a whole new move set!
