Dragon Ball-ism Toriyama Showcase #12: Neko Majin Z 2!
Welcome back to Dragon Ball-ism: Toriyama Showcase—the series where we discuss Akira Toriyama's various short stories and one-shot works. For this installment, we're returning to a light-hearted gag manga starring Z, a member of the mysterious cat-like race known as Neko Majin, in "Neko Majin Z 2"!

Published in the September 2003 issue of Monthly Shonen Jump.
Neko Majin Z 2 is one of the one-shot "Neko Majin" manga stories that were published in Weekly Shonen Jump and Monthly Shonen Jump between 1999 and 2005. This series became popular thanks to its wall-to-wall Dragon Ball parodies and Toriyama-isms in general.
A Powerful New Foe: The Galactic Emperor _rieza!!
One day, Z goes to an autograph event to meet the strongest man in the world, Thunderbolt. He was actually intending to fight him too, but just as he is excitedly preparing to throw down, who should appear before him but the Saiyan known as Onio!
You may remember Onio as the Saiyan who came to Earth only to get thoroughly thrashed by our hero in the previous Neko Majin Z.
In order to get some payback, he returns with none other than the fearsome Lord Kuriza!!
Not only is he the self-proclaimed strongest being in the universe, he's also the spitting image of Frieza in both name and appearance! His attitude seems to be the same as well, as Kuriza is quick to show off his awesome destructive power.

Upset that his bout with Thunderbolt was put on hold, Z flies into a rage and launches a devastating assault on Kuriza!
This might be the gag manga's fun way of calling back to the battle that took place on Planet Namek, but by no means is this version any less intense!

Having witnessed Z's overwhelming power with his own eyes, Kuriza responds in kind by transforming and powering up!
And wouldn't you know it, even his transformation and subsequent pose are almost identical to Frieza's!
However, unlike Goku's former foe, Kuriza right cuts to the chase by changing into his final form from the get-go!
