When you think of Dragon Ball characters, it's hard not to focus on their strength and the battles they go through, but have you ever noticed there's also a surprisingly wide variety of fashion on display? In this article series, we'll be highlighting some of that fashion for you! To kick the series off, let's take a look at the various outfits worn by a certain prideful Saiyan prince!

Battle Armor

This is the battle armor that Vegeta was seen wearing when he made his debut. All soldiers under Frieza's command wear some variation of this armor—Vegeta's gargantuan partner, Nappa, wears the armor directly over his bare skin, but Vegeta chooses to put on a bodysuit before donning the high-quality, rubber-based vest along with gloves and boots made of a soft-looking material. When you compare his look to that of the brutish Nappa, Vegeta comes across as rather refined, wouldn't you say?
As all Saiyans have tails, there needs to be a hole in the back of the bodysuit for Vegeta's to have somewhere to go. And whether you're Saiyan royalty or just a low-ranking soldier, the conventional style seems to be wrapping one's tail around the waist.

The vest houses a small communication device that won't break even if hit with the force of a Genki-dama, making it a marvel of both functionality and durability. And thanks to the high-quality rubber material used in both the vest and bodysuit, the entire ensemble can shrink or expand to suit its wearer's needs, which is why the outfit was able to grow with Vegeta when he transformed into a Great Ape!

As Vegeta's battles against Frieza's minions grew more intense, his battle armor eventually succumbed to the damage, forcing the prince to change into a different model. However, there were none of the newer models available in Vegeta's size, so he had to make do with an older model without the shoulder or hip pads. Despite this, he still made sure to slip on his trademark gloves and boots. In case you were curious, Vegeta stands 164cm tall and weighs 56kg!

Bodysuit

Vegeta had temporarily retired from fighting after the clash against Cell was all wrapped up, but he later found himself back on the battlefield wearing just his one-piece bodysuit. He probably kept his boots and gloves around from his old battle armor just in case!

Plain Clothes

Vegeta could be seen sporting more interesting outfits after he started crashing at Capsule Corporation. These are the clothes he headed out in when Frieza and King Cold paid Earth a visit. The shirt was particularly memorable for being slightly oversized, pink, and having the word "BADMAN" written on the back. Bulma was looking fabulous too with her hair done up in a large perm at the time. Maybe there's something about living in West City that makes people want to dress to impress?

This is what Vegeta looked like before making his way to the Room of Spirit and Time in preparation to challenge Cell. With a belt tightly fastened around his slacks, Vegeta looks like he's getting more used to his new home on Earth, doesn't he?

Here we have a single panel of Vegeta years after Cell was defeated looking pretty casual in his own home sporting a black T-shirt and a pair of loose-fitting pants with a drawstring around his waist.

In Tale 518, Vegeta walked onto the scene looking sharp in this wild-looking jacket worn over a T-shirt along with creased pants. Standing side-by-side with his more matured wife, they make quite the power couple!

While fashion may come secondary to this warrior who strives to surpass his rivals, with his muscular build and unwavering self-confidence, Vegeta can make anything from his battle armor to brightly colored shirts look great! Who would expect anything less from Saiyan royalty?
