The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. Taking center stage this week is Cheelai from the smash-hit feature film "Dragon Ball Super: Broly"!

Story

Cheelai is a female member of the fearsome Frieza Force with a lively, often fiery personality.
It's revealed that her motivation for joining the Frieza Force was to escape the pursuit of the Galactic Patrol, who were seeking to arrest Cheelai for stealing one of their ships.
While travelling across the universe recruiting strong warriors to Frieza's cause, Cheelai stumbles upon and rescues Broly and Paragus, who had been living in exile after being banished by King Vegeta.

Angered by the way Paragus controls Broly with the collar around his neck, Cheelai secretly steals and destroys the remote, setting him free.
Broly is later used by Frieza to battle against Goku and Vegeta and explodes into a violent rage. However, fearing for Broly's safety, Cheelai uses the Dragon Balls to wish for Broly to be sent back to where she had found him, Planetoid Vampa.

Cheelai befriended the feral Broly!
Broly was raised in a vicious environment surrounded by danger, but that didn't stop Cheelai from showing him her kind side by giving him chocolate and teaching him how to say "thank you".
