The Weekly ☆ Character Showcase is an article series where we introduce one character from the Dragon Ball universe each week. This week we're taking a look at Broly's ruthless father, Paragus!

When his son, Broly, was exiled by King Vegeta to the remote and hostile wasteland of Planet Vampa, Paragus commandeered a ship of his own and gave chase.

As the Frieza Force launches its attack on Earth, Paragus is confronted by Vegeta, who he sets Broly loose on. In the destructive battle that ensues, Broly is whipped into a frenzy and loses all self-control.

Paragus is later mercilessly executed by Frieza to further enrage Broly and unlock his full terrifying potential. Frieza's plan succeeds and Broly powers up beyond belief to his Super Saiyan Full Power form.
To Paragus, Broly was merely a tool with which he could exact his revenge, but it would seem that despite this, Broly still cared deeply for his father.

Trivia

Paragus' brutal parenting style!

Upon learning of Broly's budding friendship with his supposed training partner and vicious monster, Ba, Paragus blasts off Ba's ear right in front of his young son, who is deeply scarred by the incident.
